The proposal is to add this feat as a new feat.
AMPLIFY SPELL [METAMAGIC]
You can cast spells to maximum effect.
Benefit: All variable, numeric effects of a spell modified by this feat are increased. An amplified spell deals more damage, cures more number of hit points, affects more targets, etc., as appropriate. This is achieved by exchanging the dice regularly rolled for that spell with dice one category higher:
1d2 → 1d3 → 1d4 → 1d6 → 1d8 → 1d10 → 1d12 → 2d6
For example, an amplified fireball deals 1d8 points of damage per caster level (up to a maximum of 10d8 points of damage at 10th caster level). Saving throws and opposed rolls (such as the one you make when you cast dispel magic) are not affected, nor are spells without random variables. An amplified spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell’s actual level.
An empowered, amplified spell gains the separate benefits of each feat: the amplified result plus one-quarter the normally rolled result. An empowered, amplified fireball cast by a 15th-level wizard deals points of damage equal to 10d8 plus one quarter of 10d6.
The feat description here assumes that Empower Spell (separate thread) has been reduced.
