Rhain is a fair and just king. A devoted family man, he is eager to maintain good relations with his brother (Aust ap Cadwgan, King of Brycheiniog). He has a well developed sense of law and order, and an equally keen sense of his responsibilities to his countrymen. He promotes family values, nationalistic pride (but not necessarily blind fervour), and fair play.

His foreign policy is sophisticated, acknowledging that other Celtic kingdoms are not enemies, at worst merely rivals. Individual Celtic leaders may be recognised as a malign threat to Dyfed, however Rhain feels that any leader that willingly leads their people to war with other nations is an enemy to their own people. He recognises that Rome has had a positive influence in the areas of commerce, education, architecture and engineering, but any Roman political or military leader needs to be treated with suspicion. He is also extremely wary of anything Germanic.
